SAVE A STAR is a drug awareness foundation founded in 2007 by David & Gail Katz and their daughter Melissa Gold, following the death of their son, Daniel, from an overdose of OxyContin, an addictive pharmaceutical drug.
The foundation serves as a tribute to Daniel and a commitment to help others who may be faced with a drug problem, loved ones seeking help, education and information, as well as communities and educators who strive to bring insight and a heightened awareness of the dangers of drug abuse.
SAVE A STAR Drug Awareness Foundation is a registered 501(C)3 public charity. We are partners with the DEA Educational Foundation as well as local High School groups and others.
We are supported by a Board of Directors that provide influence and leadership to further the mission and initiatives of our foundation.
